CITY OF DETROIT YOUTH PROGRAM
The 2025 GDYT Summer Youth Employment Application is now open.
Please remember that GDYT receives thousands of applications and not every youth that applies will be selected to participate. Those selected will be notified by May 31st. Those not selected will be placed on the waiting list for this summer.
With March being Colorectal Cancer Awareness month, now is the perfect time for your listeners to talk to their doctor about screening for colorectal cancer beginning at age 45.
They also need to know that we now have more covered screening options than ever:
As of Jan. 1, Medicare is required to cover virtual colonoscopy and other less invasive exams - along with standard colonoscopies. Federal law already requires private Insurance companies to cover virtual colonoscopy and other less-invasive tests.
Virtual colonoscopy is an American Cancer Society-recommended screening exam for those at average risk – and may be an option for those at increased risk who can’t physically tolerate a regular colonoscopy.

MICHIGAN JUSTICE FUND
The Michigan Justice Fund (MJF) and LINC UP are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for artists impacted by mass incarceration in the Grand Rapids/West Michigan region. We invite you to submit a mural design that envisions a future beyond policing and mass incarceration—one rooted in community safety and care.
At MJF and LINC UP, we are committed to shifting narratives about the criminal legal system and reimagining what safety can look like in our communities. This project is part of our ongoing work to uplift the voices of those impacted by mass incarceration and to advocate for alternatives to policing and carceral systems. Through art, we hope to inspire new possibilities for justice, healing, and community-led safety.
United Negro College Fund
For 80 years, UNCF, the United Negro College Fund, has helped worthy students make their dreams reality by providing scholarships and assistance to help get them to and through college.
Celebrity HBCU alums and other supporters remind the world of UNCF’s works and their famous motto “A mind is a still a terrible thing to waste” through these radio spots.
Some of your audience attended an historically black college and university (HBCU), or received a much needed scholarship through UNCF. These messages from celebrities remind them and inform others of UNCF’s impact on students of color and the country.
